Hema, thanks for the informative post. I actually heard about the Tata Nano on the news recently and was shocked to learn that it has a fuel economy of over 60 mpg on highways and over 50 mpg on city roads. That is absolutely incredible! With gas prices here in California topping $4.15/gallon, I could definitely use a fuel-efficient car. Ratan Tata came up with a great idea, but with all due respect to him, that is one ugly looking car.

Nano will not get a speeding ticket!
At the price tag of $ 25 hundred
It may not offer cushy comfort!

It's not for markets of the US and Europe
Neither for the procession of Vatican Pope!
But, for millions of middle class Indians
Tata Nano will be a mobile heaven!

Yes, Tata's feat is indeed incredible
To too many families, it's a miracle!
Nano is destined to be useful
But not blessed to be beautiful!

You see, it doesn't even have AC
Well, utility takes precedence to beauty!
To dowse fire, we don't need sacred water,
Will wonderfully serve, even murky water!
